Editorial design for InPrint magazine's 2nd annual issue, Re:Build.
The issue highlights the designer's process of self-development, creative strategies, and transition from UC Davis to the design industry. This spread is dedicated to Chris Hamamoto, a UC Davis alumni graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Design. He works as a designer at Figma, a design tool company, and an Assistant Professor at California College of the Arts. Chris shares about his experience at UC Davis, transition as a student to a designer, and his perspective on design's role in the world.

Layout Development

After multiple iterations of creating different layout design for the spread, I transferred potential layout sketches to InDesign for digital rendering.

The photos on the spread are used from Unsplash in order to visualize the appearance of the spread.

With the actual photo of Chris Hamamoto and his graphic work, I was able to envision possible layout design of the spread. I incorporated his graphic work to create depth on the spread.
